Fighting Under the Drones: PDFs and Myanmar’s War of Endurance

This briefing note shows that Myanmar’s conflict is entering a critical phase in which resistance forces face mounting pressure while continuing to adapt against a more technologically advanced and better-coordinated military. Although the military has regained momentum through drone warfare, conscription, and external backing, opposition groups are working to address fragmentation, strengthen coordination, and sustain operations under increasingly constrained conditions. Emerging alliances and organisational reforms suggest some movement toward greater cohesion, but their impact remains uncertain as the conflict settles into a prolonged contest of endurance shaped by both persistent constraints and continued adaptation.
